My name is Lana, and I am a certified Middle School ELA teacher currently looking to tutor students in Reading, Literature, and/ or Writing. I have 9 years of teaching experience in local public schools, mainly with 6th and 8th graders. I am familiar with state and national education standards such as Common Core and PARCC. I am organized and genuinely enjoy working with teenagers.

Some of my strengths as a teacher include being able to-- explain topics in engaging ways (videos, discussions, etc.), give students authentic feedback to improve their writing, and build excitement for reading both fiction and nonfiction.
