"I am a licensed Special Education teacher with a strong background in supporting diverse learners across academic and behavioral domains. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in education and am currently completing my Master’s in Teaching with a Special Education endorsement (expected completion July 2025). My professional training includes developing and implementing IEPs, progress monitoring, behavior intervention planning (BIPs), and functional behavior assessments (FBAs). I also teach SIMS sentence writing to students in a resource classroom setting, helping learners strengthen sentence structure, clarity, and written expression through explicit, systematic instruction.
I have several years of experience teaching and tutoring students from elementary through middle school, primarily in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning skills. My experience includes both classroom instruction and one-on-one support in small-group and individualized settings. I have worked extensively with students who have learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, and emotional/behavioral needs. My instructional approach is structured, patient, and data-driven, using evidence-based strategies such as explicit instruction, scaffolding, modeling, visual supports, and frequent check-ins to ensure understanding and confidence.
As a tutor, I focus on building strong relationships with students while maintaining high expectations. I tailor each session to the learner’s strengths, needs, and learning style, and I prioritize clear communication with families so progress is transparent and collaborative. Whether I am reinforcing foundational skills, teaching SIMS sentence writing, supporting homework and test preparation, or helping students build self-regulation and organization strategies, my goal is always the same: to help students feel capable, supported, and successful both academically and personally" less...
