"As an educator with a diverse background and a passion for culturally responsive teaching, my goal has always been to create a learning environment where every student feels seen, heard, and empowered to succeed. I hold a Master of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University, where I focused on Culturally Relevant Literacy Instruction, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University.

In my current role as a 2nd and 3rd-grade lead teacher at Two Rivers Public Charter School, I use a combination of project-based learning, problem-solving, and inquiry-driven activities to make learning engaging and relevant for my students. I strongly believe in meeting students where they are academically and tailoring instruction to fit their unique needs. By analyzing student data and differentiating instruction, I’ve seen remarkable progress—70% of my students have reached advanced reading stages, and 65% have mastered math Common Core standards. Prior to this, I worked with first graders at DC Scholars Public Charter School, where my efforts led to over 50% of my students reaching the full alphabetic stage of reading, which is essential for early literacy.

Beyond the classroom, my experience in curriculum development reflects my commitment to fostering both academic excellence and cultural understanding. Whether I’m developing social studies lessons based on my research in Jordan or weaving multicultural ideas into everyday subjects, my aim is to make learning meaningful and reflective of the world we live in.
