I did my B.Sc and M.Sc in Engineering. I received my Ph.D. in Finance from Boston College. Currently I teach finance courses at Suffolk University.

CFA exam can be hard for candidates with little or no background in finance. It needs a combination of understanding concepts and technical/quantitative skills. Preparing for CFA can be tricky. It requires planning, dedication, a lot of practicing. My style is to first teach you the basic concepts in each topic. It may take some time depending on your background in finance. Remember, CFA has a lot of material; you have to start working on it well in advance. From time to time I've had people sit in my finance classes in college (no charge) just to learn the basic concepts. Afterwards, in one-on-one or group sessions, we will get into the details that are important for the CFA exam based on LOS in each topic/study session.
