"I am a university professor teaching health sciences, general, inorganic, and materials chemistry, focusing on pedagogical research. My teaching philosophy has always been that if you love what you are teaching and can convey that love to your students through your enthusiasm for the subject, your students will come to love the subject as well (or at least dislike it less). Therefore, I have always tried to convey my enthusiasm to those I have taught and tutored, believing that ultimately it leads to students that really try to grasp the material, rather than just get a passing grade. This is why I always try to make my lessons engaging and interactive.

I developed a passion for tutoring at a very early age, starting in middle school, where I would help elementary school students in the mornings before class with their math homework. In high school, while in the IB program, I tutored my classmates in trigonometry, precalculus, and chemistry. I continued tutoring through undergraduate and graduate school, helping my peers in calculus, physical chemistry, and biochemistry classes.

I teach chemistry to students from a wide variety of different backgrounds, from our non-majors chemistry (health sciences chemistry) to upper-level chemistry (inorganic and materials); therefore, I have developed the ability to alter my teaching techniques to match my student’s level. In addition to teaching college-level chemistry, I have experience tutoring AP chemistry, honors chemistry, and IB chemistry. As a result, I have tons of content, such as worksheets, flow charts, and tables, for nearly every chemistry concept at every level that I am happy to share with my students. I am also developing resources for math topics, including pre-algebra, algebra 1 & 2, trigonometry, and precalculus. Contact me if you want to gain a better understanding of chemistry and math. We can set up an online teaching demonstration or conversation to determine how I can best help you succeed!" less...
