I look forward to working with you and helping you with your academic needs. I too have had times when I struggled with subjects and have been truly thankful for the help and assistance from others.

I am trained in molecular biology and now work in cancer research here in Los Angeles. My training is in Chemistry and Molecular Biology (undergrad degree) and a PhD in biological chemistry. I also trained in a molecular biology lab as a post-doctorate fellow. Currently, I study how genes are turned on and off, and how this process becomes altered in human cancers.

I enjoy teaching and helping others learn the material. I was a teaching assistant during my early years in graduate school. In this role, I led weekly one hour discussion sessions and laboratory work for introductory chemistry courses. I also worked one-on-one with students during the semester for individual attention. I served in this capacity for two years and won a teaching award for my work.

I truly enjoy working with students on a one-to-one system. I find it helpful to review the material, and allow the student to ask/address specific points and areas that he/she need to resolve. Then, we can go through examples and problem solving. It's also important to review homework/assigned work to prepare for exams, and I am happy to put in extra time with each student to prepare for upcoming exams.

I believe that tutoring session should be relaxed and casual, so that the student is not afraid to ask any questions that the student feels necessary to improve. I genuinely care about the success of students.
