"Hi everyone! My name is Kayla, and I'm a Pediatric Registered Dental Assistant and Specialized Orthodontic Assistant. I have a strong background in tutoring a wide range of biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry classes--from high school to graduate-level coursework. I also provide tutoring in specialized, upper-division biology courses including Molecular Microbiology, Protein Structure, Parasitology, Neurobiology, and Virology.

During my undergraduate career, I spent 4 years as a Lead Biology Lab Instructor. I also worked as an Advanced Reading and Math Specialist at Thriving Minds Learning Center, helping special needs students reach grade-level curriculum.

My tutoring approach is multi-layered. Beyond helping students solidify difficult concepts, I focus on building lifelong academic skills, such as study strategies, time management, and effective exam preparation. I tailor my approach to each student's learning style and needs.

In addition to subject tutoring, I offer extensive undergraduate and graduate mentoring. I review personal statements, primary and secondary applications, and provide in-depth interview preparation for both pre-meds and pre-dental students.
