"Hi, I'm Alex!

I recently graduated with a double master's degree in chemistry from Doshisha University (Japan) and the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie de Lille (France). During my time in Japan, I conducted research at the Functional Organic Chemistry Laboratory, where my work focused on establishing a new synthetic pathway for a drug designed to cure carbon monoxide poisoning.

I presented my work at the 104th Annual Meeting of the Chemical Society of Japan, in Tokyo (2024), and the 39th Cyclodextrin Symposium, in Nagoya (2023). I graduated with a 4.09/4.33 GPA from Doshisha University in August 2024.

I am eager to share my passion for chemistry with other students!

About my teaching experience:

During my studies at Doshisha, I also worked part-time as a French tutor, for Japanese students who were planning to study in France. During a year of teaching, I met students with different levels and backgrounds. Adapting my methods proved to be a very interesting challenge, and watching them progress class after class felt extremely rewarding.

My key teaching methods include:

Explaining concepts clearly, adjusting language for different proficiency levels.

Adapting teaching methods for diverse learning styles.

Building rapport with students and providing constructive feedback.

Motivating students through positive reinforcement and fostering a supportive environment.

Developing engaging lesson plans and exercises based on real-world scenarios.

Revisiting material to reinforce comprehension.

I am excited to continue my journey as a teacher, helping students thrive in their chemistry and/or French studies.
