"I am a graduate of West Texas A&M University in the subject of Chemistry. My career path has brought me to be a substitute teacher currently. I am very experienced in teaching Science and math to students of all ages.
I specialize in Elementary through Middle School age students, but I am fully capable of assisting any age group that may need help. I have been a go-to substitute for one of the school districts in the Texas panhandle, going into my third school year. I have been able to teach in classes for multiple months, making sure all student goals are met, if not surpassed while the regular teacher was on leave. I try many approaches to teaching and tutoring, as I know not all students may learn in the same fashion. I do this by explaining things differently, visual aids and sometimes using methods such as a game to keep students engaged. I try my best to be concise while also showing compassion, as I know that especially in subjects like Math and Science it can be frustrating no matter the skill or age level. I have taught kids from second grade through eighth grade as a substitute for 2+ years in all subjects. I am confident I can teach any subject in Elementary and Middle school because of the experience I have now gained. I am continuing to work with younger students, sharpening a special skill set I have developed.
With my chemistry degree, I have tutored college students when in college myself, or after I graduated. Since much of the chemistry path in college is not a popular subject, sometimes tutors were not available for me while I was in college. I want to offer my tutoring services for these students, as their campus may not have or offer a tutor past Organic Chemistry. I am very confident in all chemistry subjects past high school for those older tutoring clients as I myself have learned these classes.
Since I am also a substitute teacher, during the school year, I will only be available from 4:45-7:00 pm cst M-F." less...
