"I have broad experience in Chemistry and I have over 15 years of teaching experience at the University level, in addition to industrial experience in the pharmaceutical sector. Currently I am a part-time visiting lecturer at Bridgewater State University (BSU). Before BSU I had similar temporary part-time teaching positions at Stonehill College, Wentworth Institute of Technology and at Massasoit Community College. At BSU I have been teaching General Chemistry I and II and Organic Chemistry I and II labs. Prior to my part-time teaching employments, I was an Assistant Professor (Organic Chemistry) at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (2002-2008). There I was teaching second-year organic chemistry courses (CHM251 and CHM252 based on McMurry) and the related labs (CHM265, -264, and -263 based on Williamson). Before that I worked as a coordinator of industrial research services for a consortium of Finnish chemical companies at the University of Helsinki. These two jobs also involved supervising and conducting research in Computational chemistry and in Synthetic chemistry. In Finland I also was a Chemistry lecturer at the University of Helsinki.

My educational background includes a Ph.D. in chemistry (syntheses of dihydro-1,4-oxathines and other related heterocycles) at the University of Eastern Finland, and post-doctoral training with Professor E. J. Corey at Harvard University (Cambridge, MA)." less...
