"Hello, I am Chip! As a Licensed Special Educator in the Commonwealth of Virginia, I have over twenty years of teaching, tutoring, and administrative experience. I graduated from the University of Virginia, and I have a master's degree in administration. Serving as a teacher, academic tutor, and principal, I have had the unique experience of designing and implementing custom curriculum that will help students reach their individual goals.

My approach centers on kindness and understanding. I strive to develop an atmosphere where I can gain the trust of each student, and then develop specific goals that allows each student to reach his or her full potential. I use humor, empathy, and compassion to create a safe learning environment.

I specialize in helping students that have had difficulty with executive functioning skills, reading and writing, study skills, and maintaining consistent motivation. In addition, I have worked with students who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and stress management.

In addition to executive functioning and organizational coaching, I provide academic tutoring. Specifically, I am able to provide support and tutoring in English/Language Arts, Mathematics, and History and Social Studies.
