"My name is Evan Underwood. I graduated from Ashley Ridge high school with a 4.8 GPA, and got Palmetto Fellows scholarship to Clemson University. I am currently working on my undergraduate degree with a Major in Civil Engineering, and a Minor in Music.

I started teaching as a volunteer at my church. I would teach the preschoolers and eventually the elementary schoolers about the Bible, God's love, and read the stories to them. Eventually, I worked on helping my friends. I tutored several of my friends in math throughout high school and now college since I've been able to get ahead on my math classes. In total I probably taught math to about 4 people before I officially started tutoring. Finally, I got around to proper tutoring.

So far, I have only had 1 paid student, who I tutored in calculus 1. They went from having a D in the class to a B after I started working with them. As far as my approach goes, I like to scan the curriculum for the class they are taking and work through homework problems with them. This allows me to get an idea of what they are struggling on specifically, and lets me know what the class will demand of them. After that, I can target specific weaknesses by finding or building problems for them and nudge them on until they understand.
