"I am a graduate of Wyoming Catholic College with a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts and have been a classroom instructor of middle and high-school Latin for the last four years. A passion for learning drives me to continue to improve as a teacher, and my hope is to be able to share that same passion and knowledge with others.

My formal study of Latin has been fairly consistent for the last decade or so. I can still recall reluctantly memorizing the intro to the Gospel of John as a seventeen-year-old and learning declensions only to discover very quickly after picking up a copy of Henle Latin, a deep passion for the ancient language. That passion drove me to attend Wyoming Catholic College, whose unique Latin immersion program furnished me with a rare and unique experience. I am very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to attend week-long backpacking trips wherein the only language used was Latin. My professors were kind enough to both allow me to compose my senior thesis in Latin on St. Bonaventure and to give me copious guidance and assistance throughout the process. The feat won me the honor of the St. Leo the Great award in Latinity.

I have been a middle/high-school classroom teacher of Latin for the last four years at a public charter school and have not only continued to sharpen my skills as a teacher but also as a continual student of the language. Though I believe that only assiduous reading can produce real readers of classical Latin, I also believe, as a tutor, in meeting students where they are at and in helping them achieve the goals they have set for themselves. Not everyone is studying Latin to read Latin. Some students just want to pass their class or improve their understanding of English grammar. Some students simply want the vocabulary so that they can become better lawyers and doctors in the future.
