"I received both MFA and PhD degrees in Music Theory and Composition from Brandeis University, Waltham, MA, where I taught for a couple of years on the faculty. Previously, I was a graduate teaching assistant at the same school for several years while working on my degrees. I've had many compositions performed in the Denver area over many years, most for voice--with orchestra, piano or chorus. I also worked as a singer.

First, I have a large amount of experience and knowledge of the theory/composition subject matter and of musicianship--ear training, etc. I've had a very gifted young private student for the past 6 years (and a second one more recently). I plan lessons on a weekly basis for them the same as if I were teaching a college course (one has become fairly advanced). I believe the students have benefited from close personal attention to their work, It's been very satisfying to watch them improve. The first of my students, who started with me at age 12, recently was admitted to the composition program at the University of West London, UK.
