"Hi! I'm Jon Brewer. I graduated with highest honors with a BA in Linguistics and a minor in TESOL, and I hold a master's in English (graduated with distinction).

During my undergraduate time, I tutored linguistics courses, and after graduating, I took a temporary ESL teaching role at EF International Language Campus in Santa Barbara. My love of linguisitcs, language, and writing ultimately culminated in pursuing a master's in English (creative writing option), where I also taught a composition course for freshman through the English department (and co-taught another English course).

I also served as a Peer Writing Specialist, holding one-on-one tutoring session on a variety of both college and general writing topics. In addition to my linguistics and writing education and experience, I have taken a wide breadth of coursework, including graduate-level study of rhetoric.

I believe the mix of my English and linguistics training, as well as my broad range of experiences and interests allow me to both connect with and help students find their own persepctive on how to accomplish writing or coursework goals." less...
