Education and Qualifications
I graduated from Yale with highest honors, earned a Master's degree from Tufts, and have been teaching writing for over 20 years.
I have 25 years of tutoring experience, with a special focus on nonfiction writing. I coach high-school seniors as they develop and then hone their college application essays. I am a Sutton Trust / Fulbright Commission Mentor for underprivileged applicants. I also taught a course on the personal essay to adolescents over several summers for the Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth.
A veteran classroom teacher, I have led courses for teachers with the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I am also a seasoned debate coach with a highly successful squad.
