"Hi! I’m Jill. I’m a former AP Environmental Science teacher with a College Board AP Environmental Science (APES) official training certificate from Rice University. I’ve been in education as a teacher or tutor for the past ten years almost entirely online. This has given me ample opportunity to adapt established teaching pedagogy to this realm and utilize widely available online tools to maximize concept learning and productivity.

My academic background is in Geology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In addition to teaching, I also conduct research in an area that falls within the realms of cognitive neuroscience and GIS. Specifically, I look at how we can best use modern technological tools in education that will maximize the development of students’ spatial thinking skills.

In addition to my teaching credentials, I also have materials that will supplement what your student has received from their teacher. After the session, I will provide each student with a complementary set of practice MCQ problems from the section or unit we covered in the session. This gives your student the opportunity to further interact with the material resulting in a higher probability that they will retain the information. The practice problems give automated feedback with explanations, so they can better understand their own proficiency.

I also have practice FRQs available. Upon request, I’ll send your student the practice FRQ in a google doc. Once submitted, I’ll review the work and offer feedback (what was done well, what could be improved, etc) and offer revision materials when needed. Reviewing the FRQs is billed in 15 minute increments.
