"Matt is a veteran educator, college consultant and author of Unlocking College Admissions: Your Step-By-Step Workbook For Finding The Right College And Getting In. He has spent time as a teacher, administrator and teen and young adult mentor and academic counselor. He offers a variety of services including college essay coaching, executive functioning coaching, college placement, tutoring and life skills mentoring.

Matt graduated from the Gemstone Honors Program at the University of Maryland, College Park with dual degrees in History and Secondary Education. Since graduating he’s worked as a high school history teacher, a private tutor, a summer camp travel group director, an administrator at a small, progressive private school, and a teen and young adult mentor. He has spoken at a variety of small education conferences and parent back-to-school nights. Regardless of the role Matt has been in, he’s always been passionate about helping teens discover themselves and their goals, and how to work towards achieving them.

Although based out of northern Virginia, Matt works with clients from across the country, including his home state of New Jersey, where he desperately misses their bagels and pizza, and his adopted state of California, where he (almost as desperately) misses surfing.
