"I have over ten years of experience instructing college-level mathematics and chemistry and providing individualized one-on-one academic instruction. I hold a degree in Biochemistry from Texas State University, with advanced coursework in calculus, multivariable calculus, differential equations, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry.
I have taught in classroom and college-associated instructional settings, including work connected with Austin Community College, and support high school students, college students, and adult learners. In chemistry, I guide students through laboratory coursework, including pre-labs, post-labs, data analysis, dimensional analysis, unit conversions, error analysis, and formal lab reports. I explicitly teach how mathematics underlies chemical reasoning, including ladder-method unit analysis, proper grouping and parentheses, thermodynamics, stoichiometry, equilibrium, and kinetics.
In mathematics, I teach Calculus I–III (multivariable calculus), trigonometry, college algebra, and differential equations with emphasis on interpretation and method selection. I use visuals and Mathematica programming to expand series, analyze error in Calculus II and AP Calculus BC, and demonstrate why approximations work. I also use Mathematica for differential equations, including variation of parameters, piecewise functions, and Laplace transforms, explaining both how and why the methods are valid.
I teach efficient algebraic strategies such as synthetic and long division, factoring methods (including AC and pattern recognition), and rational expressions, breaking down boxed methods into clear logical steps. I am known for an extremely patient instructional style and have experience supporting students with learning differences, including autism and traumatic brain injuries, adapting pacing and explanation to ensure understanding and independence." less...
