"Hi, I am Jalen! I graduated from Diamond Bar High School with an IB diploma, and I am currently attending Cal Poly Pomona for a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Business Administration. During my time at school, I have really learned that how a lesson is taught really affects one's learning. I want to bring help to anyone that wants it, especially when I am more than able to offer my services. My method of teaching is to introduce a topic first, and show examples to get the student familiar with it. Then, I either choose problems from a textbook, or make up questions for the student to practice with to get them really familiar with the concept.

I have around a year of tutoring experience, both with younger and older kids. At school, I used to tutor my peers as part of a club volunteering program. I tutored the subjects of geometry, algebra 1, algebra 2, as well as Calculus I (AB). These were one-on-one tutoring sessions where I was able to prioritize the learning of the student. I also was a student volunteer at an afterschool daycare/tutoring center where I tutored both English and math to 3rd grade students. I was able to provide one-on-one tutoring sessions with the students, but I also helped to teach a class of 30 students there as well.
