"Hello, I’m Rosa! I graduated in Mechanical Engineering, tutored groups of Engineering University Students and mentored college students in their academics and Rocketry. As a former engineering student myself, I felt detached with the material, not knowing how the words in the book translated into real life or how the concepts could be applied, resulting in me feeling lost and ultimately falling behind for some time.

After what felt like an excruciating time of struggling I became more familiar with my learning preferences and my learning styles.

Once I was in the line of work, the more experienced and confident I got, the better I became at translating these concepts into more simple and comprehensible terms.

In tutoring and mentoring college students in my local community college, and leading tutoring study groups of 4-7 engineering students I quickly learned that what works for one student could very well not work for another.

For this reason, for my lesson plans I like taking a more personalized approach and tailoring each lesson plan to match the preferences and learning styles of every student. Additionally, for solving problems I like taking a more practical approach, simplifying problems and using examples from real life scenarios.

Prioritizing assisting students with their questions, simplifying challenging material and tailoring lesson plans for each student’s needs is my method for keeping students on track with their academic work.
