"Hello! I’m Taeeon, and I am a senior at Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, where I study Biomedical Engineering. I have been inducted into Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society for my academic excellence, and I received A’s in coursework including linear algebra, ordinary differential equations, general chemistry, organic chemistry, molecular biology, and other graduate level engineering courses.
Before Columbia, I graduated in the top of my class from Deerfield Academy, a rigorous boarding school in Massachusetts. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in mathematics, chemistry, and biology, as well as the ability to explain complex topics clearly and effectively.
I have been tutoring middle school and high school students one-on-one for over four years. I have taught algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus (AB/BC). I have received 5's on AP Biology and Calculus BC.
My tutoring approach is highly personalized. I start by identifying a student’s strengths and gaps, then build a plan tailored to their learning style. I help students understand why concepts work, not just how to apply formulas. I also believe that long-term academic success requires more than content knowledge. I teach proven systems of note-taking, spaced repetition, exam preparation, and mindset habits that I developed myself over the years.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but to teach them the study skills and mindset that lead to future academic success. I care deeply about my students, and I’m committed to helping them reach their full potential." less...
