"I'm an undergraduate at Columbia University. I'm majoring in Biology and Philosophy with a 4.0 GPA. I've been tutoring students in a variety of subject (anatomy, College writing, SAT math, etc.) for 3 years now. I specialize in student strategies for studying, reducing stress, and working less time while getting better results. It's been my experience that the right techniques and strategies can massively reduce the time students spend studying while also reducing their stress and improving their grades. It doesn't fall under any clean category listed below, but it's by far what I'm best at when it comes to school. I credit my academic success (graduating at the top of my class in high school, maintaining a 4.0 at Columbia, and doing it all with dyslexia) to my organization, my methods, and my philosophy around school.

On a more personal level, I'm from Bozeman MT and I love hiking. I'm also an avid Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, blog writer, microbiology researcher, and reader. If I tutor you, there is a good chance I'll recommend at least three books to you -- some of which you may actually like.

Since High School, I've never gotten anything below an A in a math class. I've also been tutored a number of students in SAT math, some of which have seen 100 point gains in their scores. My philosophy for math is simple: make the abstract concrete, translate the numbers into words, and practice.

At my high school, I was the top science student in my class. At Columbia, I've excelled in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I ended each class with an A/A+ and scored perfect grades on tests where the average was between 50-70. I do well in science because of how I learn it: by breaking down a complex system into explainable pieces. This also makes me a good tutor in each subject, as I can explain clearly what I've learned.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. I really look forward to working with anyone who's interested!" less...
