"I'm currently a Lecturer in the Discipline of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Columbia University, where I teach senior engineering design and laboratory courses that span the biomedical engineering curriculum.
I'm a three-time Duke BME graduate (Ph.D. 2022, M.S. 2017, B.S.E. 2016). As a graduate student, I served as a teaching assistant (TA) for four different BME courses: BME 271A: Signals & Systems, BME 303L: Modern Diagnostic Imaging Systems, BME 590: Magnetic Resonance Imaging - Principles & Sequence Design, and BME 790L: Signal Processing & Applied Mathematics. I have also tutored more than two dozen Duke student athletes in topics ranging from introductory coding (in MATLAB) to Medical Instrumentation to Music Theory! Working with such a wide range of students in different disciplines has given me a unique viewpoint on what it takes to be a successful educator, and I hope we get the chance to work together!
Additionally, I am practically fluent in MATLAB (10+ years of experience). I use it almost every day. I have previously tutored dozens of students across all ages and levels in MATLAB, and I enjoy helping students learn how to "think like a computer" to turn pseudocode into instructions a computer can execute.
Math has always been one of my favorite subjects. I love how there are explicit rules that will undoubtedly lead you toward the solution to any problem. I have taken multiple calculus courses in high school and college, including single variable and multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations, and I continue to use these skills in my current academic ventures.
Furthermore, since biomedical engineering is an amalgamation of electrical and mechanical engineering, I have taken a plethora of courses in these disciplines during my time as an undergraduate and a graduate student at Duke.
Please reach out if you have any questions, comments or concerns! I look forward to helping you reach your goals, and to hopefully have fun learning along the way!" less...
