"Raised in Gambia on the west coast of Africa and educated in the French school system, I moved to Spain at the age of 10 to continue my studies. Fascinated by how the human body works and driven by a desire to build tools that can improve lives, I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering. Before beginning my PhD at Columbia University, I worked in one of the leading immune-engineering laboratories at MIT, developing technical expertise I now apply to my research on immune-related diseases such as cancer.

Having grown up in multilingual and multicultural environments, I am fluent in Spanish, French, and English, and I am comfortable connecting with students from a variety of backgrounds. My teaching experience includes serving as a teaching assistant for Columbia University’s Biomedical Engineering senior design course, where I helped guide and mentor 70 seniors through the design and execution of their final projects. In this role, I focused on breaking down complex concepts into approachable steps, fostering problem-solving skills, and encouraging creative thinking—an approach I carry into one-on-one tutoring.

Beyond academics, I have a creative side that includes art, music, and cooking, which often helps me bring relatable examples into lessons and keep learning engaging.
