I graduated from Columbia University with degrees in mathematics and philosophy, and I've taken coursework in advanced undergraduate computer science. I've worked as a college teaching assistant, and as a tutor, for over ten years.

I specialize in teaching advanced college mathematics and computer science, especially for students pursuing a mathematics or related degree. My current work is in real analysis, probability theory, and related topics.

I also tutor introductory courses in physics and chemistry.

I'm an especially great match for students who are interested in math and science, and who are highly motivated. On the other hand, I am not a good match whenever tutoring is chosen by the parent rather than the student. I specialize in helping students who have chosen tutoring for themselves, because they want to improve their understanding.

For any college subject, I will require you to send me the exercises or course material that we will discuss during tutoring. If the exercises come from a textbook, often I will already own that textbook, so you can just tell me the problem numbers from it.

College level subjects are not as standardized as high school subjects. The only way I can know what I need to teach you, is to see the assignment or notes. It also helps me to decide whether I am the right tutor to help with what you need.

I can't discuss scheduling until you send the course material that we'll discuss. If you attach these to your initial message, we can more quickly move on to discussing a first time to meet.
