"Hello, I am Heather M! As an experienced educator with multiple subject certifications I have a varied background perfect for students who may learn differently and need specialized instruction. I graduated from Ohio University Summa Cum Laude in Middle Childhood Education with both Generalist and Reading Specialist Certifications. Because of my strong belief in all people being scholars I have specifically sought out those who are the most disenfranchised and therefore have worked with special education students and struggling learners throughout my career. I understand the frustration a scholar can feel when a subject is not being taught or shown in a way they can understand and strive to teach subjects in multiple ways to ensure understanding.

I am a big believer in the power of math and science to make students love to learn. I have taught most math classes in middle and high schools and have helped students to achieve their goals on the SATs. Physics is my favorite subject as it combines my love of math and science. There is nothing as fun as students seeing the fact they just learned applied to real life situations. Physics allows this to happen, often in fun ways.

I have helped many students achieve their personal goals in all subject areas. I have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 as well as intervention classes for all three subjects. I have taught and am currently tutoring middle and high school English Language Arts and help with reading intervention currently at my job. I am a physics nerd who has taught both Physics and AP/Honors Physics. I love and have taught science in the middle and high school settings. While I have only taught World History and Ancient History I enjoy all periods of history and hope to help you connect the dots between events and human nature.
