"I've always believed that the best way to truly understand physics and mathematics is to see how the pieces connect together, not just memorize formulas for a test. After spending the last seven years immersed in computational physics research, first completing my PhD at Boise State University and then working as a postdoctoral researcher at Sandia National Laboratories, I've developed a knack for breaking down complex concepts into clear, intuitive explanations.

My research involved building sophisticated computer simulations to solve challenging physics problems, from modeling atmospheric flows to simulating charged particle dynamics in detectors. This work required deep experience with scientific programming in Python, C++, C, FORTRAN, and MATLAB, as well as the ability to explain my methods to collaborators from different backgrounds. During graduate school, I served as a teaching assistant helping first-year students with Java coursework, and as an undergraduate I assisted students with mathematics foundations and coursework for introductory physics courses covering mechanics and electromagnetism.

What I enjoy most about teaching is helping students build genuine understanding rather than just getting through homework. Whether you're working through college-level physics, tackling calculus and differential equations, or learning scientific programming in Python, C++, or MATLAB, I focus on making sure the fundamentals are solid. I'm comfortable working with students at various levels and particularly enjoy helping those who need to use computational tools for their coursework.

I'm based in the Marietta area and available for both online and in-person sessions with flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends. My goal is to help you not just pass your class, but actually feel confident in the material." less...
