"Tests Results are crucial, but getting good grades is only the first step in the path to getting the most out of one’s education. As a Montgomery County local, former Teaching Fellow at the University of Maryland, and professional Engineer, I believe I can help students not only feel better about their time in the classroom, but also connect their STEM educations to skills that can last a lifetime.
I received my K-12 education in Montgomery County and experienced first-hand how intense some of the STEM curriculums can feel. I took SAT prep classes and learned test taking tips that served me well throughout college. These fundamentals became the baseline for my professional skills and real STEM understanding. I aim to help all students connect the concepts behind the curriculums to correct answers, confident conceptual understanding, and career-ready skills.
During my time at the University of Maryland, I taught first and second year engineering students C programming courses as a Teaching Fellow, and I loved it. In this position, I ran discussion sessions with ~20 students about 1-2 times a week. I led office hours workshops, wrote coding projects, and helped students learn one-on-one. This experience taught me how to meet students where they are, and together tackle short-term challenges while building long-term conceptual knowledge.
Now, I am an electrical engineer by trade, and I spend my days using different concepts to solve problems, design solutions, and fix defects. I need to flip between different schools of math, coding, and problem-solving strategies as I approach new tasks. As I do, I am always surprised at what I remember and use from school. The test taking tips, long college lectures, and complicated homework assignments all come together to form a framework that helps me approach any puzzle.
If you are looking for help with Math, Coding, Engineering, or other STEM topics, please reach out and together we can give these tough concepts the context and instruction they need." less...
