"My name’s Santosh. I'm currently a junior at UNC Chapel Hill, majoring in Computer Science and Economics. When I was learning concepts in my classes at my high school, the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) and UNC, I realized that a good support system for learning is critical for a deep and complete understanding. I would attend my classes and review my notes later, but there was a gap between that understanding and the understanding required to complete assignments and perform well on exams. A good support system and help in understanding were the fundamental differences between students who did well on assignments and exams, as opposed to those who didn't. As someone who has been on both sides, I can attest to the power of a good support system. For me, a support system meant getting tutored on a topic or concept from class that I didn’t understand, so I could fully comprehend what was being taught and apply it successfully on assignments and exams. After understanding the impact a tutor can have on someone’s understanding, I have decided to become a tutor so that I can make the same positive impact that those tutors had on me. My tutoring will be 1 on 1, personalized to what you want to learn and how you want to learn, whether that’s through slides or practice problems where I work through the problems with you.
