"Hey, I'm Hari -- a junior at University of Maryland double majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics. At UMD, I have taught and been a teaching assistant for multiple courses in upper level topics in cybersecurity and mathematics. While my expertise lies in security, cryptography, and binary exploitation, I am comfortable teaching a wide range of computer science and mathematics topics including discrete math, linear algebra, calculus, algorithms, statistics and probability, number theory, and more. I am happy to teach high school mathematics (such as algebra and SAT prep), as well as college-level mathematics and computer science (proofs, Python, algorithms, cryptography).

My tutoring style is individualized and centered on the student, and focuses on curiosity and conversation. I aim to create a space where questions are welcome, mistakes are part of the process, and understanding is built step by step. Rather than rushing to solutions, I encourage students to pause, think out loud, and engage with the reasoning behind each step. The goal isn’t just to get through the next assignment, but to build lasting confidence and insight that carry into future challenges. I focus instead on guiding students towards the solution through their own thought process to solidify understanding of material.

Much of my experience has been in one-on-one tutoring sessions through office hours, where I help students understand material and work through homework problems. I additionally have years of experience teaching a classroom of college students learning cybersecurity and binary exploitation. Outside of teaching, I have extensive experience in research, and I have worked as a cybersecurity research intern at Trail of Bits. I frequently use insights from my research background to pose thoughtful, guiding questions to help students with specific concepts.
