"I'm Jonathan, but you can call me Jon! I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Theatre Performance, Acting. Though Ann Arbor was my home base for four years, my passion for theatre brought me to Europe, where I studied Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and to Berlin, where I spent a semester engaging in Epic theatre and experimental scene studies.

The thing I cherish the most about theatre is it's ability to bring people into conversation with each other, cultivating the ability to comprehend, analyze and debate material which illuminates the world we live in. My experience in rehearsal rooms and workshops around the world has given me the confidence and skill to collaborate with a wide range of people. And this is how I view acting training- a collaboration between the teaching artist and the student that ultimately empowers the student to gain confidence in themselves, and through rigorous text work, to be proud of the choices they make in a rehearsal or audition setting. And this, ultimately, is what we will work on- engaging in monologue or scene studies in a grounded manner, deciphering action/objectives, and returning to a state of play which can unlock great emotional strength and confidence to your performances.

Completing a four year degree course at a well established theatre program has taught me the discipline it takes to become an actor.
