"Hi, I'm Luc! I'm currently a Ph.D. student in Applied Physics at Cornell University. I graduated cum laude and with highest honors with bachelor's degrees in physics, mathematics, and computer science, and a master's in computer science. My educational background has given me a massive breadth of knowledge across the subjects, enabling me to be an effective teacher in many technical topics.
I started teaching as TA early in my undergraduate studies and have since taught at all levels from introductory physics to graduate-level quantum information. During this time, I received an award for my involvement in teaching and outreach in the physics department. I continue to teach as a TA at Cornell University for courses in the Applied & Engineering Physics department. Last summer, I started working with the Hotchkiss School as an Instructor for their new summer program teaching high-school seniors' higher-level mathematics and physics and was heavily involved in both the course design and delivering the lectures.
I started tutoring about three years ago and continue to offer my assistance mostly with college-level mathematics and physics courses. I'm also open to higher-level or more specialized topics, and on occasion to high-school seniors.
Below are some anonymous quotes from past student evaluations:
"It is very clear he is a natural teacher with a high level understanding of {Quantum Information} and I would just like to add I was very surprised by the pose and maturity he demonstrated as an undergraduate TA"
"Luc is a phenomenal TA. He puts in multiple hours every week to make sure the students understand the content, and is very good at making his ideas come across."
"I wish he was the professor" less...
