"I’m a current Cornell University student double-majoring in Information Science (Data Science concentration) and Economics, and I’ve been teaching and coaching in some form since high school. Academically, I graduated at the top of my class in high school and now study at an Ivy League university, where I continue to write, present, and converse at a high level across my courses and extracurriculars.
My teaching background spans several contexts and age groups. In high school, I coached and mentored younger students in speech and debate—especially legislative debate, persuasive speaking, and mock trial—helping them with argument structure and delivery.
I’ve also mentored student translators/interpreters, guiding them on how to move naturally between Korean and English while preserving tone and meaning. On the test prep side, I’ve taught essential SAT skills, with an emphasis on Reading, Writing & Language, timing strategies, and how to “think like the test.”
Beyond that, I’ve worked in ESL and basic-skills settings. As an online ESL tutor (Ringle), I’ve helped adults and college students—often professionals in their 20s–50s—improve conversational English, presentation skills, and clarity in business or academic contexts. I’ve also supported elementary school students with foundational skills like reading, writing, and basic math in more structured, school-based or volunteer environments. So I’m very comfortable working with learners from early elementary all the way to older adults.
Across all of these experiences—speech and debate coaching, SAT prep, ESL teaching, translation mentoring, and elementary support—my approach remains the same: I meet students where they are, keep the environment relaxed, and help them build both skill and confidence, step by step." less...
