"I am a credentialed California teacher with over twenty-five years of experience working with elementary and upper-elementary students in both general education and Special Education settings. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in History from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and later completed my Master’s degree in Education along with my California teaching credential at California State University, Fullerton. Throughout my career, I have focused on building strong foundational skills in math and reading, particularly for students who need additional structure, patience, and confidence-building support.

My teaching experience includes working with students from first through sixth grade in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one instructional settings. For many years, I taught in a Special Day Class environment, supporting students with learning differences, attention challenges, and academic gaps in reading and math. I specialize in breaking down concepts into clear, manageable steps, using repetition, visuals, and real-world examples to help students truly understand what they are learning rather than memorize procedures. I also have extensive experience supporting students with homework organization, test preparation, and IEP-aligned academic goals.

As a tutor, I bring a calm, structured, and encouraging approach that helps students feel safe making mistakes and asking questions. I adapt my instruction to each student’s learning style and pace, whether they need intervention support, skill reinforcement, or confidence rebuilding. My goal is always to help students become more independent learners while reducing frustration and anxiety around schoolwork.
