"Hi, my name is Karl, I live in Los Angeles, California, and I have over 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages. I taught English, Social Studies & Math for 15 years to grades 9-12 in El Monte, California, and tutored K-12 students for three years in Los Angeles. In addition, I taught Conversational English to adult professionals in the Republic of Korea (ROK), and ESL to grades 9-10 in the People's Republic of China (PRC).

I have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Valparaiso University in Indiana, and a current, Single Subject Teaching Credential from California State University in Los Angeles. In addition, I am TESOL & TEFL Certificated.

My junior year in college, I studied in Reutlingen, West Germany, and explored cities in Switzerland, Austria, the Kingdom of he Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Great Briton. Since 1992, I have made over 50 trips to the Philippines and Indonesia on diving expeditions and a variety of business projects. I have also spent years searching for buried and sunken treasure in remote locations throughout the world!

I have been featured on several television shows, including Dateline NBC and in numerous newspaper stories, including the Los Angeles Times.

I am a good listener and great storyteller, and always take into consideration all suggestions so you can get the most out of each lesson.
