"Hello, my name is Michelle, and I am a patient teacher who has been tutoring students of all ages since 2013. I have tutored many students that have been identified with special needs including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD/ADD, anxiety, OCD,, and dyslexia. Prior to tutoring, I taught high school science for five years and middle school math and science for two years. I have a PhD in biology, a multiple subject teaching credential for elementary education, a biotechnology certificate, and a bachelor's degree in microbiology.

I am an excellent math, science, and reading teacher and have taught students to be successful in other subjects too. I also teach test prep skills and passed the CBEST on my first try. The science classes that I have taught students to understand and succeed in are general science, Earth science, biology, microbiology, middle and elementary school science. I have also taught students to comprehend and succeed in general math, pre-algebra, and algebra. I have also improved students' reading and writing skills. I have taught students grammar, reading comprehension, phonics, and writing. Perhaps the most important information I teach falls under the category of study skills, which I incorporate into every subject. I emphasize how and what to study, as well as test taking skills. I have experience tutoring people of all ages, from preschool through high school and college graduates.

I usually do a brief initial assessment of the student's strengths and areas which need improvement. Next, I tailor my teaching methods to the students' needs.
