"Hello! My name is Manasi, and I am a senior at University of Arizona majoring in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science, with minors in Biochemistry and Psychology through the Honors and premedicine program. My passion for tutoring began 10 years ago through helping classmates work through challenging concepts during my math teachers’ student hours. Seeing how individualized support improved understanding and confidence motivated me to keep tutoring and eventually turn it into a long-term commitment.
I began teaching formally as an instructor at Kumon, an after-school math and reading program, and continued in this role throughout high school. I worked with students from ages three through college, in both one-on-one and small groups. I focused on building strong foundations, encouraging independent problem-solving, and helping students feel comfortable learning from mistakes.
When I began college, I continued tutoring through my university’s THINK TANK tutoring services in my freshman year and have remained involved since, leading private appointments and drop-in sessions during the school year and summer. In this role, I work closely with students across a wide range of math topics, break down complex problems, and adjust my explanations based on how each student learns best. I eventually became a CRLA Level 3 Certified Tutor and now mentor and train new tutors within the program. I also serve as an Exam Prep Leader, facilitating structured math review sessions and encouraging active, collaborative learning. In my second year, I became a General Chemistry preceptor, holding weekly office hours and guiding students through challenging material.
Over time, I have developed proficiency in Pre-Algebra, Math Foundations, Geometry, College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus, and I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building lasting understanding. Feel free to reach out to schedule a lesson. I look forward to working with you!" less...
