"I am a two-time graduate from Johns Hopkins University. I earned my B.A. with honors in Writing, while minoring in Spanish. I did my M.S. from here later in Biotechnology, and I am currently in the application and interview process with medical schools.

I myself encountered many points of difficulty in my own education journey, but fortunately – after great struggle – I was able to overcome these things. For example, after having a negative experience with a particular teacher in elementary school, I struggled greatly with math and science, but later on – after I graduated college, and while doing post-graduate work, I finally figured out how to perform well in STEM classes.

Because of my own struggles with education, I find immense satisfaction in teaching students concepts that – before working with me – were difficult for them. I like to try to understand the root of the issue causing a student to have difficulty in grasping a concept. Often, I find that if I sit down with a student, and try to understand them a little better, then I can figure out how to present important educational concepts to them in a way that works for them. There is always something specific that makes a person tick, and I think it is important to identify what that thing is. I have tutored from high school till now, and my students have ranged from ages 6 to 20. For the last 11 months, I have been tutoring elementary to middle-school age students in math, and reading comprehension.

I hope to continue my teaching and tutoring experience, and I look forward to being of benefit to students and families in areas in which they need assistance." less...
