"I am currently a second-year doctoral student with Northern Arizona University who loves nothing more than helping others succeed. I have been a straight-A student my whole life, but this achievement did not come easily to me. I made school my job and spent long hours studying and reviewing material ad nauseam. I was hesitant to seek tutoring because I thought asking for help made me weak— little did I know at the time, but asking for help is truly a great strength. It wasn't until high school Calculus that I finally sought tutoring and discovered how much easier it made my life; I no longer spent miserable hours alone agonizing over how to integrate equations— instead, I asked for help and grasped concepts twice as fast as before, saving me time, effort, and unnecessary headaches. I hope to do the same for the students I tutor.

Although I do not have a teaching or tutoring certification, I have mentored students and provided countless hours of assistance in algebra and trigonometry, grammar, theatre, Latin, French, analytical essay writing, creative writing, and research essays. Since 2018, I have worked with middle school students to graduate students and everyone in between, and I am proud to say that everyone I have assisted has either improved by a full letter grade or has maintained top marks in their subject. I helped my students attain these achievements by tailoring my approach to their unique learning style and needs in one-on-one sessions, asking them guiding questions to help them arrive at the answers themselves, and providing clear feedback on assignments.

My goal in tutoring is to help my students rediscover the joy of learning and gain confidence and a sense of empowerment as they tackle difficult assignments. I hope to help my students develop their critical thinking and analytical skills, improve their written and oral communication, and flourish both inside and outside the classroom.
