My name is Megan and I am a current nursing student at National University. I graduated cum laude from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Public Health. I have about 2 years of tutoring experience. In high school I tutored in the subject of algebra. Then, in college, I tutored at a 3rd grade level in all subjects. This experience was particularly challenging, as the girl I was tutoring was doing school completely online due to the pandemic. However, I found that I was able to rise to the occasion to make learning more fun for her and help her stay on task despite the challenges of remote learning. Both of my tutoring experiences have been in a one-on-one environment; I find that this is the best way to connect with the student and cater the teaching to their learning style.

I have a real passion for working with kids, I have previously worked as a Unit Leader at the YMCA, working primarily with kids ages 5-9. I think my strength in being a tutor is my ability to connect with students. Through building rapport with students I find that the work has a much deeper impact. Throughout my academic career I have gained confidence in my intellect by taking charge of my education and engaging in the material I am learning.
