"Hi I'm Riley! I am a current student at the University of Wyoming double-majoring in Zoology and Environment/Natural Resources with a minor in Honors, and I plan on pursuing a Master's degree in Education following graduation! I graduated summa cum laude in high school, taking primarily Advanced Placement and leadership-based classes. In these classes, I was extremely lucky to have some of the most incredible instructors, as they always made the content extremely engaging and made an individualized effort to connect with us as students. I loved seeing the different teaching styles that were utilized by these teachers in order to help us as students better understand, retain, and engage with the content.
I have helped tutor a variety of age groups throughout my academic career, and I love helping to give students a new perspective when trying to understand confusing concepts/topics. During my senior year of high school, I was able to volunteer at a local elementary school and work one-on-one with struggling students, teach lessons to the class as a whole, and host creative review sessions in order to prepare the students for upcoming exams. Not only was I able to connect with so many unique students, but it was also inspiring to see the difference that I can make in kids' lives.
Although I am extremely passionate about all things science, I also love helping to teach English/Reading skills (even in preparation for standardized exams such as the ACT), along with a variety of math skills. I want to continue making a difference in kids' lives even while I'm away at college, so please feel free to reach out with any questions!" less...
