"As a teacher, I am committed to not just knowledge, but critical thinking. I love grounding new ideas in students' everyday experience and watching them light up when everything “clicks!”
In 2017 I graduated from Dartmouth College with a major in Studio Art and a double minor in Spanish and Government. These concentrations honed my writing and language skills. My Spanish studies taught me how to make successful inferences about language, while my Government studies gave me critical research, proofreading, and analysis skills. Finally, through art I learned to iterate until arriving at a well-crafted piece. For my achievements at Dartmouth, I was awarded the Ralston Creative Writing Prize, as well as a citation for academic excellence in English 80.
My teaching experience began with a year post-grad at Dartmouth as a teaching assistant. I later served as the Executive Director of a Massachusetts nonprofit, where I mastered professional grant writing skills and studied at the Harvard Kennedy School. I currently work as a Training Manager at a Los Angeles nonprofit, where my work includes designing and facilitating curricula for student interns at the high school and college level. I also coach our junior team members in literacy, reading, and professional writing skills.
Finally, I am currently enrolled at the USC Rossier School of Education, earning my Masters of Education in Learning Design and Technology. Whether you are working on an essay, application, or creative writing, I’ll bring experience and research-based learning techniques to help you succeed.
I am a flexible, funny, and creative teacher with a strong emphasis on students learning strategies for ongoing success. Thank you for reading, and I look forward to working with you!" less...
