"I have a semi-varied educational background. I was originally interested in a career in law enforcement and received my Associate Degree in Law Enforcement but soon realized that it was not something I wanted to pursue. I quickly decided on the education field and wanted to become a History Teacher. I soon earned my B.A in History with a minor in Political Science and went on to complete my teacher certification.

I found a job working in Adult Education with student ages ranging between 16-70. I taught both ESL and GED Preparation. After 12 years in Adult Education, I began working in Providence as a Middle School Social Studies/ESL Teacher and continue to work for Providence today.

I was also trained in Orton Gillingham to help students that struggle with dyslexia, but the approach is comprehensive enough to address many different reading challenges. Under this training I tutored students over the course of 2 and a half years. I used hands-on student-centered approaches and learning that engaged different senses primarily visual, tactile and auditory.

As mentioned above, I have taught a wide range of students with different ethnicities, ages, religions and so on. As a classroom teacher, I believe routines, consistency and hard work are essential for progress and growth.
