"Hi! I'm Ana, and I'm a second year student majoring in neuroscience at the University of Texas at Austin. I found my passion for teaching in high school, where I worked with a nonprofit tutoring organization called Learn To Be. Additionally, I frequently provided private tutoring for middle and high school students. My approach is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to each student's unique needs and learning style. I believe that fostering a positive relationship with students and taking the time to understand their individual challenges is essential for their success.

I have four years of volunteer experience and two years of professional experience tutoring grammar, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and chemistry. Typical sessions involve guiding students through homework, class problems, and any specific topics they find challenging. While teaching, I aim to provide students with guiding questions that encourage them to think critically and arrive at the right answer themselves, rather than simply giving them the answer. I believe that this approach helps build their problem-solving skills while also promoting a better understanding.

Some of the relevant coursework I took in high school includes Honors Pre Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Physics, and AP Statistics. I was valedictorian of my school and I was a National Merit Commended Scholar. I am currently in my university's honors program, and some of my courses this year include Honors Genetics, Differential and Integral Calculus, General Chemistry, and Statistics.
