"I hold an MFA (Master of Fine Arts, Studio Art). My goal is to increase student skills in the area of Design-Thinking, or how to solve a creative problem. This skill is not limited to Art. It is a core skill for any career area a student desires to pursue, and should be part of basic education. Most education is formulaic and does not instill the confidence in the student's ability to solve a problem ad innovate. Today's employers list "creativity" as the number 1 attribute that they look for. Instead of working from a user-centered (or client-centered) design-process, I teach a individual-centered process which has the goal of allowing the student to create their own design-thinking process that best suits how they think. I am open to students of any age...everyone needs this skill!

I am certified to teach Art, English, and Theatre. I am constantly urging my students to spell and phrase things correctly. In the end, we learn to speak well by reading, and by examining what we are reading.

I am an artist currently pursuing my MFA, and am actively producing my own work. I feel that there is nothing my students cannot accomplish if taken a step at a time.
