"Hi! My name is Dr. Everett D. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina and received my PhD from Florida State University's Institute on Napoleon and the French Revolution. My primary area of research has been Napoleonic military administration, although I have wide training in modern world and European history. I am also a graduate of the West Point Summer Seminar in Military History. I have a lot of publications, including a book on the development of Napoleon's Ministry of War and War Administration (two different ministries - things got confusing). I believe history is expansive, and I have done work in social and gender history, although, at heart, I'm pretty much a traditional military/diplomatic/political kinda guy. I like students and I like questions. I've been doing this for twenty-some years and never get tired of it.

I have taught a complete range of history courses at all levels (if you would like, I can send you a complete teaching repertoire). I am qualified to teach/tutor American, European, and world history, and I have worked with The College Board/AP since 2006 on AP world history exams. My philosophy is that education empowers, and my goal is to show not simply content but relevance.

On a personal note, I am a huge Star Wars fan, like dinosaurs and natural history, am a bit of a marine biologist, and am very intrigued by the relationship between technology and intellectual constructs.
