"Seeking students who wish to learn graph theory, elementary number theory, advanced algebra ("modern algebra"), algebraic geometry, and more: I bring the experience of intense full-time A+ work two years in a post-masters doctoral program (incomplete) in mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University, where I pursued model theory, set theory, and a bevy of plain topics in advanced, graduate level "pure math".

I seek motivated students, high school or college math majors, to take on: I will create a curriculum for you, meet with you virtually each week, and deliver a quality education in formal methods and computer-assisted "pure math" generally, or come up with a plan tailored to your needs.

About me: I am an open-source enthusiast and contributor, and partly self-taught, partly classroom taught, partly taught by supervising professors. My coding skills include Python and C++, and I love to help students get ahead, for example, by writing regular "Exercises" in PDF format, of self-led inquiries into the outputĀ of a computer-assisted tool likeĀ the ones I authored for graph theory, or others as found in present-day curricula around computer-assisted proof and formal methods.

This is an occasion to go deep, and earn accolades as an independent learner, mimicking my own route as a self-taught coder during the dot-com era, and later as a graduate student and undergraduate student doing self-led projects. I believe in going deep on one or two tracks, and earning the experience of "owning" the knowledge, being versatile with it, and really having mastery. This can then lead to broadening into other fields, with an established toolkit of thought, proof-based, experimentally-based knowledge.

I have been tutoring on Wyzant for over a decade and tutoring as a volunteer for Boston school students for four years. I still take on students in traditional topics like calculus and SAT prep at a lower hourly rate, but here propose a boutique offering I do alongside this work." less...
