"I'm Ethan! I graduated from Duke University, receiving my Bachelor of Science, majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology. While I can teach several subjects, I am most passionate about teaching mathematics. Math has always been a subject that I have not only shown proficiency in but also enjoyed. My teaching style is highly interactive. Rather than exclusively lecturing, I would like to have my students work through practice problems, and I will take the time to explain concepts and show example problems when they get stuck. I encourage my students to stop me at any time to ask questions! I typically make lesson plans that include visuals and text on slides. For the SAT specifically, the structure of my lessons usually follow a pattern of concept explanation, worked example/detailed step by step, tips/tricks, then practice problems. Following sessions, I give my students resources to work so that they can reinforce what they learned. I am always open to feedback and adjusting my methods to fit my students' learning styles.

I have over 1 year of online one on one SAT tutoring experience, with the majority of my students being in 11th-12th grade. I got a 1530 superscore on the SAT (790 math, 740 reading). While I specialize in math, I also have the same amount of experience tutoring the Reading/Writing section. I have become very familiar with the digital format of the SAT and the use of the Desmos calculator. In addition to SAT tutoring, I have also tutored K-12 Mathematics and Biology.
