"Hello and welcome! My name is Ms. M, and I am a certified elementary teacher with more than four years of experience teaching first grade in New York State public schools. I hold a Master’s degree in Literacy for Birth through Grade 12, as well as certification in Childhood Education for Grades 1–6. Throughout my career, I have worked with children from preschool through middle school, including English Language learners and students with exceptional needs. I have developed a strong passion for helping students grow into confident, independent readers.

My specialty is providing phonics-based reading intervention for struggling readers. I understand that learning to read can feel overwhelming for some children, and I believe that every student deserves instruction that meets them exactly where they are. In my sessions, I use assessment-driven, evidence-based practices to target the specific skills each child needs to strengthen, whether that is letter-sound recognition, blending, decoding, or reading fluency. At the same time, I make sure that lessons are interactive, engaging, and enjoyable so that students not only build skills but also develop a positive attitude toward reading.

Parents can expect that I will communicate clearly about their child’s progress and design instruction that is both systematic and effective. My goal is always to provide focused support that leads to measurable growth in reading, while also helping children see themselves as capable learners.
